A two month-old infant was gravely injured in a car accident at the Downtown Los Angeles Artwalk last night. The baby boy was in a stroller beside his mother on a crowded street when a driver in a new Cadillac car accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes, reports KTLA. The car ran on to the curb and struck the mother and child, injuring both.

Officer Gregory Baek of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to the HuffPost that the child is currently on a life support device. He had no information on the condition of the mother, and the driver of the car was not arrested last night. The LAPD are investigating the matter further.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the accident was on Spring Street near 4th Street, while people were leaving a Downtown Artwalk event that ended around 9:20 a.m. The driver was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
