Cops: Drunken Man Steals Steamroller, Gets Rolled Over

This is no way to roll a drunk.

Canadian law enforcement officials say a drunk man took a steamroller for a joyride, only to see that heavy machinery roll over him.

At around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, police in Sudbury, Ontario were alerted that man had been trapped underneath an overturned steamroller at a construction site, according to The Toronto Sun.

"He started the machine and we believe he had intended on leaving the scene with it," Sudbury Police Constable Bert Lapalme told AOL Weird News. "He went up an incline and the machine tipped -- he was pinned."

Emergency workers were able to extract the man from beneath the steamroller and brought him to a nearby hospital for treatment for a leg injury.

Police believe he crashed the stolen piece of construction equipment while under the influence of alcohol.

The man will likely be charged with driving under the influence and theft of an item worth more than $5,000, though those charges have not yet been filed because the man has not been formally arrested due to his hospitalization.
