WHY: With last year's fair a success, the Art Los Angeles Contemporary (ALAC) will throw its second international contemporary art fair from January 27-30, 2011. The latest incarnation, to be held at Santa Monica Airport's Barker Hangar, will feature 70 galleries, both local and international, as well as lectures, panel discussions, and series of films and performances. Highlights include Camilo Ontiveros' sinister appliances and the monochrome gradients of Evan Gruzis' photos. Tickets are $18.00 and the website is www.artlosangelesfair.com
The new venue allows the fair to grow to accommodate more art galleries and large scale special projects in an expansive venue with soaring 40 foot ceilings.
