Train Kills 2 People On Tracks

Two people were struck by a train and killed in Queens, New York, early Thursday morning.

A man and a woman were hit by a Long Island Railroad train at Hollis Station at 2:47 a.m., according to NBC New York.

More than 100 passengers on the train were able to transfer to a different one and there were no other injuries reported.

The identities of the two victims have not been released and it's unclear why the two individuals were on the train tracks, CBS New York reports.

The LIRR tweeted that train service was running close to on schedule following initial delays.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
