Kylie Jenner has not been on Kris Jenner's payroll for quite some time.
In a new interview with InStyle UK, Jenner, 17, revealed that she has been financially independent since she was 14 years old.
"My [mom] cut me off financially three years ago so I pay for everything –- my car, my gas and food as well as my clothes," the teen is quoted as saying to the fashion magazine in an article published Monday. "There are so many outfits I bought in the past that I just think now are not cute, but there’s not very much I can do about it!"
Although she's not yet old enough to vote, the youngest of the Kardashian clan is already a millionaire. Her name is attached to clothing lines, nail polish and anti-wrinkle serum, on top of her "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" salary. She drives a $125,000 Mercedes SUV and, in February, she bought herself a $2.5 million house.
While she might have the means to maintain such a luxurious lifestyle at just 17, Jenner has said material possessions don't mean everything to her.
“I’m not materialistic," she told Fault magazine in March. "I love clothes and all that stuff, but I don’t need it to live. I feel like, not that I’ve had everything, but once you feel you’ve had everything at a young age, you can either go down a path of being spoiled and self-centered, or you see it isn’t everything.”
