Here at HuffPost Green we cover all manners of topics -- everything from sustainable design to wacky animals, to climate politics to the latest eco-tech breakthroughs. However, one topic that could use more attention and understanding is energy. How we use energy and the resources we devote (or don't) to securing our energy future could very well be a defining question of the 21st century.

It's easy to say we should support wind, solar, or increasing energy efficiency. But those statements can often turn into platitudes that don't explain how we are going to get from point A (our heavy reliance on fossil fuels and foreign oil) to point B (powering the world's economies with renewable resources.)

That's why I'm pleased to announce The Huffington Post Spotlight series on energy that will feature Vokle video debates, moderated by me, with leading experts exploring tough questions of our time.

I want these exchanges to be as engaging and exciting to our readers as possible -- that's why we want YOU to submit your questions before and during the debate. We want to hear what you want to know about these pressing topics. You can also tweet questions to us and about the debates using the hashtag #hpenergydebates

Here are the head-to-head dialogues you can look forward to:

1) Energy politics writer for Grist.org David Roberts and Steve Everley, the manager of policy research at American Solutions, Newt Gingrich's think tank, will be discussing "After so many political failures on energy, where should we go from here?" The exchange will take place on November 9th at 2PM EST.

2) Author and environmental leader Stewart Brand will be debating Friends of the Earth president Erich Pica on "Nuclear power: is it the answer to our energy crisis?" on November 16th at 2PM EST.

3) Finally, we'll be having a debate between Kate Sinding, Senior Attorney and Deputy Director of the New York Urban Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, with Chris Tucker from Energy In Depth, on the hot topic, "What's the deal with natural gas? Is it really green?" This debate will take place on November 17th at 11 AM EST

I'm looking forward to exciting and spirited exchanges from some very smart people with strong opinions. I hope to see you there!
