'Evacuteers' Work To Improve Emergency Preparedness In New Orleans

A New Orleans based organization, Evacuteer.org, is growing in popularity and volunteer participation in a region still coping with harsh memories of Hurricane Katrina. The nonprofit organization works to unite and train volunteers in the area to be ready to respond and help their communities in the event of future disasters.

Evacuteer.org has been working with the American Red Cross, HandsOn New Orleans and Lowernine.org to coordinate efforts for more efficient and safe city evacuations.
