Will Teabaggers Be Offended by the Minaret in the 2012 RNC Logo?

Will the same people that are protesting mosques approve of their party's biggest event having what they probably consider an Islamic image in its logo?

At DemConWatch we cover both the 2012 Democratic National Convention and the 2012 Republican National Convention. Yesterday we did a story about the unveiling of the Host Committee's website and new logo.

If you look closely you'll see a minaret/dome style building in Tampa's skyline. The actual building is part of the Tampa Bay Hotel and opened in 1891.

The newspapers of the day described it as "brightly illuminated, filled with sumptuous decorations, thrilling music and graced with turrets, domes and minarets towering heavenward and glistening in the sun."

Now any sane person wouldn't think twice about putting a minaret into a logo. The question is will the same people that are protesting mosques approve of their party's biggest event having what they probably consider an Islamic image in its logo?

Another question is who will be the Convention Czar?

Should this become an issue with the Tea Party it will only confirm just how crazy the Republican party has become.

You may remember that back in 2008 the RNC chose this for there logo:

Photoshoppers rejoiced in the ease of making fun of it. It's only a matter of time before we see some new ones.
