Temperatures are rising into the triple digits all along the East Coast, including in New York City.

The city reached 103 degrees Tuesday in Central Park, breaking the record set in 1999 by two degrees. There have been only three hotter days in New York history since 1869 when city officials began keeping records.

JFK Airport broke a previous record as well, peaking at 101 degrees.
