A Chihuahua Was The Mayor Of San Francisco For A Day

It only makes sense in a city that's home to more dogs than kids.

A rescued Chihuahua mix named Frida spent Tuesday as the mayor of San Francisco after a tasteful commendation ceremony at City Hall, to which she wore a sequined fedora and a string of pearls. Word on the street is that she bought the election -- or, rather, her owner Dean Clark did when he won a bidding war for the honor at a charity gala benefitting the city's Department of Animal Care and Control. Frida hopes her short-lived term will remind people that shelter dogs make great pets.

Frida spent her time in office touring San Francisco, looking like a boss. Check out some of her appearances below.
