Feminism Should Not Be Controversial

I have a son. I have a daughter. I want my daughter to have every opportunity my son has. Not more. Not less. Equal.

I have a daughter who is 14 months old.

I have a son who is 5 years old.

I want my son to follow his dreams.

I want my daughter to follow her dreams.

I want my son to do well in school.

I want my daughter to do well in school.

I want my son to believe he can be the next President of the United States.

I want my daughter to believe she can be the next President of the United States.

I want my son to make the most money possible in his career.

I want my daughter to make the most money possible in her career.

I want my son to fight for what he believes in.

I want my daughter to fight for what she believes in.

I want my son to get treated with respect.

I want my daughter to get treated with respect.

I want my son to play professional sports if he is good enough.

I want my daughter to play professional sports if she is good enough.

I want my son to be a superhero.

I want my daughter to be a superhero.

I expect a lot out of my son.

I expect a lot out of my daughter.

I want my son to be safe and will do everything I can in this world to make it better.

I love them both with all of my heart.

See, I know there is a difference between men and women. I am smart enough to know that there is a difference between boys and girls...

But when it comes to any political, economic or social issue...

That difference should make no difference.

I have a son.

I have a daughter.

I want my daughter to have every opportunity my son has.

Not more. Not less. Equal.

That is feminism. It is not about feeling one sex deserves more.

It is realizing that both sexes deserve the same treatment and doing things to make sure that happens.

There should be no controversy if you are one or not.
