I think that we could live with this - The English National Opera's new opera based on Webster's The Duchess of Malfi, is all set to be a sensational hit. The bad news is that the demand for tickets is so high that ENO's website has crashed.

I am hoping to see it on July 22 - I think I have tickets........

Meanwhile no crashes in Chicago. We are having a nice quiet June, the conference season is in full swing, the tourists are here for shopping not opera, and the CSO has a Beethoven Festival - all nine symphonies coming up conducted by Bernard Haitink. Not too shabby I would say. I hope to be there for numbers 4 and 6 on Thursday evening on my return from LA.

The city continues to bustle and look pretty. The Park Grill outside Plaza (below) is doing a roaring trade.
