A Guy Used iOS 8 QuickType To Write A Song And It's Pretty Good

The new iOS 8 QuickType function is supposed to help iPhone users text faster by predicting what they'll say next. But now it's helping one YouTube artist write music.

Jonathan Mann, a YouTube artist who tries to write a song per day, used the iPhone's new autocomplete keyboard to write all the lyrics of one of his recent tracks. The song is appropriately titled "iOS Autocomplete Song."

To create the lyrics, Mann opened up his Notes app, selected the suggested "The" and then let autocomplete compose the rest, tapping back and forth across the three options in a rhythm. After nearly two minutes of one sentence, Mann opened up a new sheet and started over with "I'm," so that the song could take a new direction.

QuickType, which is found above the iPhone's traditional keyboard, tries to predict what you want to type based on the words you've already typed in your message, your past conversations and your writing style, according to Apple.

The resulting lyrics don't make a ton of sense, but there are some choice lines. Our favorite? "I am so glad to see my life and the only one who has been the most important thing." Here are the rest of them:
