Kids Donate Lemonade Money To Help Berkeley Animal Shelter Ravaged By Fire

Fire ripped through the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society last week, claiming the lives of 15 cats, and leaving two dozen other animals suffering from symptoms of smoke inhalation.

Touched by the tragedy, community members are coming forward with donations to help care for the animals and rebuild the destroyed shelter. Two local children, Billie and Sofia, raised money selling lemonade and cupcakes to donate to the shelter.
