UVA Lacrosse Murder: George Huguely Shook Yeardley Love, Took Her Computer (NEWS)

George Huguely, the University of Virginia student charged with killing Yeardley Love early Monday morning, admitted that the two argued and he shook her, repeatedly hitting her head against a wall, according to an affidavit.

Affidavits requesting search warrants described witnesses finding Love face down on her pillow in her bedroom. Her right eye was swollen shut, there was a pool of blood on the pillow, and her face was bruised, according to the affidavits. The door to the room had been forced open and had a hole in it, according to the documents.

Huguely told police that he kicked the hole in the door. The New York Daily News reports that Huguely had bruises on his arms and scratches on his hands, which he first attributed to lacrosse injuries but later said came from a fight with Love.

According to the Associated Press, Huguely told police that he and Love were corresponding by email and he had taken her computer. Various reports indicate that Huguely and Love had dated for more than one year.

The Washington Post reports that Huguely had a violent run-in with the law two years ago:

In an interview Tuesday, Lexington police Patrolwoman R.L. Moff said she responded to a 911 call in 2008 and found Huguely stumbling into traffic. He told her he was visiting some friends at a frat party. She asked if anyone could come pick him up so that he could avoid going to jail, according to Moff.

"He said: 'I'll kill you. I'll kill all of y'all. I'm not going to jail,' " Moff recalled Huguely saying, in a diatribe laced with racial, sexual and otherwise vulgar terms.

Moff said Huguely then became combative and fought with her for "three or four minutes." She said she Tasered him, then placed him in handcuffs.

Huguely received a 60-day suspended sentence for the incident.

The Daily News also reports that Huguely was set to start a job in commercial real estate in Washington after graduation. Police described him as cooperative but "visibly shaken."

Huguely has been charged with first-degree murder. At a hearing this morning, his lawyer said Love's death was an "accident that turned tragic."
