Joss Whedon Has A Hilarious Response To A Fan's 'Buffy' Request

Joss Whedon Just Brought 'Buffy' Back, Kind Of

Be careful what you wish for.

Joss Whedon is a god among sci-fi geeks. He's also a pretty funny guy. The writer/producer/director is currently busy bringing a a few Marvel superheroes to the big screen -- ever heard of a small film called "The Avengers"? Yeah, that was him. And while we're excited to see Robert Downey Jr. and the gang get up to all kinds of shenanigans while saving the universe for a second time, we can't help but yearn for some of Whedon's most iconic TV characters.

The man who brought us "Firefly" -- a show that was taken far too soon -- also gave us one of the most kick-ass female heroines of the '90s. That's right, we're talking about you, Buffy Summers. Though "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ended over a decade ago, fans still dream of seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar whip out her trusty stake and best some vamps just one more time.

Well, dream no more. Whedon might have hit it big with his Marvel gig, but he just proved he hasn't forgotten about us little people and our love for his cult classic. A follower on Twitter took one for the team and asked the writer if he'd consider giving fans more of the slayer. Maybe it's because Whedon is just a generous guy, or because the question was followed by that magic word "please" but Whedon decided to grant the social media request.
