2-Year-Old Takes First Steps On His Prosthetics, Tells The World, 'I Got It'

From the moment he was born, 2-year-old Kayden Kinckle had mammoth obstacles to overcome. He had an omphalocele, a birth defect in which internal organs remain outside the body, and his legs were deformed in utero, due to an amniotic band that had wrapped around his lower limbs. He underwent two abdominal surgeries and, in January, the toddler's left leg and right foot were amputated.

But on July 4, Kayden proved that the challenges he's faced are no match for his tenacity.

In a video posted on Facebook by his mom, Kayden can be seen taking his first steps on his prosthetics. "I got it!" Kayden gamely tells his caretakers in the footage, his steps unsteady but determined. "I got it!"

According to his mom, it was Kayden's first time walking on the prosthetics by himself.

On Sunday, NFL player Michael Vick shared the inspiring video of Kayden's first steps with his 2.5 million fans. "For with God nothing shall be impossible," Vick wrote in a caption.

More than 140,000 people have liked Vick's post.

"So encouraging! My problems seem so minimal," wrote one Facebooker after watching the video.

"If people would use just a fraction of what this baby has, our world would be [a] 100 percent better place to live!" quipped another.

Kayden's family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the child's medical bills. Visit the campaign page here.
