PETA Blasts Lady Gaga For Dressing Up Dog Asia

PETA Is Not Happy With Lady Gaga

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has a message for Lady Gaga: dogs are not to be accessorized.

The animal rights organization blasted Gaga for dressing up her French bulldog puppy, Asia (otherwise known as Batpig), in a statement to Us Weekly Thursday, June 19.

"Lady Gaga may choose to decorate herself with elaborate and even uncomfortable outfits, but Asia doesn’t get to make that choice,” a PETA rep told Us. “Although it seems pretty clear that Lady Gaga loves Asia, we think Asia -- and all dogs -- are adorable without all the added flair. The best accessory for any dog is a comfortable, secure, well-fitting harness, which is perfect for long walks together."

The singer has been having fun dressing up her little pup in dazzling jewelry and frilly outfits and taking photos for her 3.7 million Instagram followers since she got the dog in April.

This is not the first time Gaga has been on PETA's radar. In 2010, PETA slammed Gaga for wearing that infamous meat dress to the MTV Video Music Awards. Two years later, the organization called her a "freak" for wearing fur.
