What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

It's understandable if you feel completely overwhelmed in your hardest moments. It's also pretty normal that you may want to escape it all and check out, but it isn't what will ultimately serve you best.

In the past few months my dad, great aunt, and dog have all passed away.

Sometimes life is just hard, period.

Being put through the wringer lately, I will be the first person to let go of the sugar coating and get real with you. Life comes in a crazy ball of ups and downs, and although it would be great to avoid the dips, these very experiences can be incredibly powerful when leveraged.

You've stood in my shoes before, although it may have looked differently. You've pushed through some of the statistically-proven hardest moments known to man... a heart-wrenching break up, loss of a loved one, maybe a crazy health scare. What I want to know is... what did you do in those rock bottom moments to move to emotional healing?

The bottom line is, as you're trying to come up for air in the middle of all your pain, you ultimately can make one of two decisions. You can either take the path you've always taken, which for most people is one where they stay feeling victimized and forlorn. Or you can take the other path, which often feels really uncomfortable for it requires you to change, shift and grow. It demands that you try another way.

Eek...

What you do in crippling times is a golden opportunity to transform your life. I know it always has been for me and I'm not talking about just recently with this onslaught of massive loss.

There was a time when I was stuck in a deadly cycle of an eating addiction, body image disorder, and low self-esteem. It was the darkest chapter of my life, but with dedication and commitment I finally climbed out and reached deep healing.

I want the same for you. I want you to wake up energized, feeling amazing in your body, expansive in your heart, and excited about your life. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you can create everything you want in your life, no matter what your current age or size. I know this because I turned it around for myself and have helped thousands of others do the same.

It's understandable if you feel completely overwhelmed in your hardest moments. It's also pretty normal that you may want to escape it all and check out, but it isn't what will ultimately serve you best. So, I've mapped out three simple steps to master your disaster and turn it around.

3 Simple Steps to Master Your Disaster:

1) Discover A Bigger Meaning
Knowing you are human, living a human experience, it's safe for you to assume that you will stumble on tough times. The key is to ask how you can use the experience for your good. Ask yourself: What has this experience taught you? Has it made you stronger or wiser? How has this experience possibly saved you from something worse? All of these soul-searching questions can help direct your attention away from the pain and allow you to find some comfort in your situation.

2) Build Your Support Team
Pulling a team of people around you that love and support you is a surefire way to get your spirits lifted in the fastest way possible. These types of relationships are usually ones that need to be nurtured over time, so starting today, take inventory as to whom you're spending your time with. Do they inspire you? Are they open minded and compassionate? Are they good listeners and handle stressful situations well? Make sure to be treating them the way you want to be treated, as healthy relationships are always a two way street.

3) Get Into Action
And last but not least, set a new goal for yourself that excites you, brings you joy and relieves stress. After a certain amount of time, it will not serve you to continue to feel down about your situation. Yes, honor your loss, take the time you need to heal, and then get into inspired action once again with your new exciting endeavor or challenge.

The most important thing for you to understand is that you always have a choice. Even if you've never been so low and it doesn't seem as if life could get any worse. You still have a choice to shift into a positive mindset. I invite you to nurture an attitude of gratitude for what you have in your life that is good, so you can draw more of that to you and know that you can always, without a doubt, turn your life around.
