As a New York sports star famously said, it ain't over 'til it's over.

The Montreal Canadiens grabbed a crucial overtime win over the New York Rangers on Thursday night to ensure the NHL's Eastern Conference finals won't be over too quickly. Canadiens center Alex Galchenyuk knocked in the decisive goal just 1:12 into overtime in Game 3 after a shot by teammate Tomas Plekanec. The Canadiens' 3-2 win cut the Rangers' series lead to 2-1.

"To be honest, I have no idea what happened," Galchenyuk said, via ESPN.com. "[Plekanec] put it on net and it bounced off my stick or hit me. It went in, and the celebration started from there."

The Rangers won the opening two games of the series in Montreal and returned to Madison Square Garden in control of the best-of-seven series. The Canadiens, without injured goaltender Carey Price, have a chance to pull even in Game 4 on Sunday.
