Shakira and her boyfriend, the Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué, hit the red carpet together at the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, a first for the couple. And the Colombian superstar was definitely excited.
Piqué had crossed the Atlantic to accompany Shak and watch the singer light up the stage with her single "Empire." At one point Sunday, Piqué was backstage supporting the singer and when the two collided -- literally -- they had no problem showing their affection in public.
Shakira wasn't the only Latina to shine bright at the BBMAs. Marc Anthony swept the Latin categories, winning Best Latin Star, Best Latin Album and Best Latin Song, and Jennifer Lopez became the first woman to receive Billboard's Icon Award.
J.Lo performed her single "First Love" and joined Pitbull onstage as they opened the show with the official World Cup anthem "We Are One (Ole Ola)." The soccer fever didn't end there, however, as Ricky Martin also hit the stage with "Vida," the controversial song from the Sony SuperSong competition.
