The Trailer For Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd's New Rom-Com Parody Is Pretty Darn Great

The Trailer For Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd's New Rom-Com Parody Is Here!

We can probably all agree that romantic comedies need to be taken down a peg.

Well, the first trailer for Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd’s new romantic comedy parody “They Came Together” is here, and it’s packed full of all the self-awareness and tongue-in-cheek humor one would expect from a spot-on parody.

“Wet Hot American Summer” and “Role Models” director David Wain is behind the upcoming comedy, which The Wrap reports Wain co-wrote with his former “Stella” writing partner Michael Showalter.

As if Poehler and Rudd weren’t big enough comedy heavyweights, the trailer is packed with an array of funny stars, including Cobie Smulders, Ellie Kemper, Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, Jack McBrayer, Ken Marino, Michael Ian Black and Jason Mantzoukas.

Check out the trailer for some hilarious rom-com takedown lines, such as “I never met anyone else who likes fiction!” and “Go jump in a lake, meathead!” The movie is due out in select theaters on June 27.
