Actor Michael O'Keefe Looks Back On 'Caddyshack,' 'The Great Santini'

What Danny From 'Caddyshack' Is Doing Now

Michael O'Keefe -- more commonly known as Danny from the cult-classic film "Caddyshack" -- has veered off the golf course and onto the stage.

The actor currently stars in "The Library," a new play directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Scott Z. Burns, Soderbergh's frequent collaborator ("Contagion," "Side Effects").

"It's fun to play every night," O'Keefe told HuffPost Live's Roy Sekoff about his "Library" character, the on-stage father of a young woman played by Chloe Moretz.

O'Keefe went on to describe Moretz, who plays the victim of a school shooting, as a "true actor, a true artist ... she has it all instinctively."

The actor also took the opportunity to reflect on his "Caddyshack" Days, which he said he had a "blast" making.

"I had these really great interviews with Harold Ramis and Doug Kenney about getting the part," he explained, referring to the iconic film's director and producer. "They were interested in Mickey Rourke originally to play that part. And, ya know, it would've been a different movie."
