RZA Fires Back At Raekwon In Wu-Tang War Of Words: 'I'm Walkin' Hip-Hop!'

RZA Fires Back At Raekwon's Diss: 'I'm Walkin' Hip-Hop!'

In a HuffPost Live interview Tuesday, rap legend RZA fired back at fellow Wu-Tang MC Raekwon, who called RZA's solo work "mediocre" in a recent Rolling Stone interview.

Raekwon told Rolling Stone last week that "RZA's the type of dude where, in the '90s, he ruled. Now it's a new day. You're not attached no more. It's like being a coach and you won rings back in the day, but now your team is in ninth place. It's time for a new f**cking game plan."

RZA had some choice words for Raekwon in reply. He told HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill:

"Listen, everybody has their ups and their downs. Everybody has their opinions. I can never say that I'm not 'attached' or I'm not 'dope' anymore, kid. I'm writing movies and directing them. ... That takes a lot of brain power. To make a beat, I can make a beat in five minutes. I can make a beat in my head right now, hold it in my head and then do it. I'm walkin' hip-hop. I'm livin' hip-hop. I'm takin' hip-hop further."

RZA's new film "Brick Mansions" hits theaters April 25.
