Anyone hoping to see Russell Crowe reprise his role as Jor-El in the forthcoming Batman-Superman crossover movie will have to keep their fingers crossed for those Krypton prequels Crowe once teased. The actor revealed to Yahoo! Movies that he will not be part of the hybrid installment.

"I don't think they're going to use me again," he told the site while promoting "Noah." "I think they're jumping onto a different stream. You know, they're going with the different superhero worlds colliding."

Jor-El is more in line with Superman's origin story, which doesn't seem to be the focus of the much-anticipated new installment. Yet Crowe seems determined to make his interest in a prequel known. The Oscar winner took to Twitter in the wake of his well-received "Man of Steel" performance last year, urging fans to request another Krypton movie.

With or without Crowe, the still-untitled Batman-Superman film arrives on May 6, 2016. In addition to Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, the movie stars Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Jeremy Irons.
