British Prime Minister Cameron: No G8 Meeting In Russia This Year

Friday?s agreement between Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and the EU leaders was part of the pact that former President Viktor Yanukovych backed out of last November in favor of a $15 billion bailout from Russia. That decision sparked the protests that ultimately led to his downfall and flight last month, setting off one of Europe?s worst political crises since the Cold War. (AP Photo/Geert Vanden Wijngaert)

THE HAGUE, March 24 (Reuters) - The G8 group of industrialised nations will not meet in Russia this year, British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Monday, as Western leaders prepare to discuss their response to Russia's annexation of Crimea.

"We should be clear there's not going to be a G8 summit this year in Russia. That's absolutely clear," Cameron told reporters on a visit to a nuclear security summit in The Hague. (Reporting by William James)
