Samuel L. Jackson Meets With Reporter Who Confused Him For Laurence Fishburne

They Meet Again!

The reporter who mistook Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne during a live interview is trying really hard to not be remembered as THAT guy.

KTLA's Sam Rubin recently sat down with the actor again for the first time since their "cringeworthy" interview in February when Rubin confused Jackson with another black actor. Rubin said that the interview received "global" attention, but he wanted to prove that it was not as "inflamed" as the media made it seem.

We wish we could say that the second interview helped clear the air, but it was almost as awkward as the first. It was unclear if Jackson even knew that Rubin was the same guy from the initial interview, which made everything all the more uncomfortable once he figured it out.

"I didn't think [the interview] would get any attention at all," Jackson said. "I only thought people in LA were watching that...I was having a good time."

Rubin admitted that he was "nervous" to talk with Jackson face-to-face but that he "had a feeling" that Jackson did not know who he was talking to during their first conversation.

"People are like, 'ask him if you guys are fine,'" Rubin said.

"As far as I know, yeah," Jackson responded. "Why wouldn't we be?"

"I almost wore my 'I am not Laurence Fishburne' t-shirt," Jackson said at the end of the interview.

"Next time," Rubin joked. Jackson was not amused.
