Tonight, get schooled in regards to pi, as well as the "mathematician subculture," before jumping into the same-sex marriage debate with Ames Grawert and "The Legal Case for Gay Marriage."

Immensely talented choreographer Doug Varone shines the spotlight on three of his former dancers who have made a great impact on his work. This special program features Gwen Welliver's movement Portraits 1-3, Nancy Bannon's dance-theatre piece Drinking Ink, and two premieres by Daniel Charon: A Place Between Places contrasts the constant driving force of chaos with a transcendent score by Aaron Jay Kernis, while Snapshots of a Past captures the physical intricacies of coupling.

Kick off your celebration of St. Patrick's Day a weekend early with this fest devoted to the arts of the fighting Irish. Highlights include the US premiere of the Cillian Murphy-starring gangster flick Perrier's Bounty, an early screening of lauded playwright Conor McPherson's foray into cinematic ghost stories, and a new doc about Gabriel Byrne. Also of note is the stateside premiere of The Yellow Bittern, a portrait of beloved songwriter Liam Clancy, plus tons of live music every night. Best of all, most events are followed by a very generous three-hour open bar sponsored by Jameson and Stella.

Tanya Tagaq and the Kronos Quartet: Tundra Songs

The adventurous Kronos Quartet have redefined what it means to be a classical group, performing works by everyone from minimalist composer Terry Riley to free jazz pioneer Ornette Coleman, and their love of world music has taken them across the globe to "bollywood" and Azerbaijan. This evening, they journey to the Far North to bring us the primal Inuit throat singing of Tanya Tagaq, who has wowed audiences performing with Björk as well as on her own at last year's globalFEST. These tundra songs embody the roots of traditional folk music filtered through electronic processors by a slew of musicians including Kimmo Pohjonen and Samuli Kosminen, who contribute several of the compositions making their US premiere tonight.

Hero or traitor? Such is the debate that has taken place over Daniel Ellsburg's decision to leak thousands of pages of confidential documents to The New York Times in 1971. This film covers one of many polarizing issues in what was arguably the most controversial period in United States history; the military conflict in Vietnam. The leaked documents were a comprehensive history of military involvement in Vietnam spanning two decades. Daniel Ellsberg, considered a hero by many for being the honest man in a dishonest administration, for taking a calculated risk to expose the fallacies and lies that provided the foundation for a war that he, himself had helped plan. He's also considered by some to be a traitor for publishing files that threatened to undermine a government built on secrecy and confidentiality.
