Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) advocated for an increase in the national minimum wage, in a Tuesday interview on HuffPost Live.

While he said an increase to $10.10 an hour would "lift thousands of people out of poverty," Ryan contended that an ideal livable wage would be $13 or even $14 an hour -- a change Republicans are not willing to make.
