Indie Rock Band Cheatahs Performs On HuffPost Live

Indie rock group Cheatahs graced HuffPost Live's stage, performing "The Swan" and "Kenworth" off their debut album. After the performance, host Theo Bark interviewed the four-man band about their road to success and struggles along the way.

One major challenge was affording life in the affluent city of London; like most up-and-coming bands, finances are tight. Another was staying true to their distinct sound.

"We all kind of grew up around the same time, and as far as guitar music goes, we all listened to that same kind of '90s guitar music," said lead singer Nathan Hewitt.

The band cites artists like Oneohtrix Point Never as major influences, but guitarist and vocalist James Wignall added that Cheatahs' sound is always meant to be original.

"We don't start out trying to sound like anyone else," Wignall said.

Independent of any financial setbacks they've faced, Cheatahs is focused.

"This year is just about playing shows," Hewitt said of the road ahead.
