Winter is coming, and HBO is making sure that everyone knows.
"The Wall," or the icy fortress that protects much of Westeros from White Walkers and Wildlings on "Game Of Thrones," made an appearance in London on Monday (Feb. 17) with the help of some 3D artwork. HBO commissioned street artist Joe Hill to create a 10 by 7.5 meter drawing that would capture the enormity and intensity of the series' 700 feet high by 300 mile long fortification.
Passersby were able to "scale" the Wall without actually being chased by White Walkers or risking a certain-death fall, making this wall far superior to that of the Seven Kingdoms.
Hill told Radio Times that the installation was drawn such that it would appear to be 3-dimensional from multiple angles, "making it a first in the 3D art world."
The art installation was erected in order to celebrate the release of "Game of Thrones" Season 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK. The Wall only graced the streets of London's Bishops Square for six hours (a paltry amount of time in comparison to the some eight millenia that the people of Westeros have been protected by the icy fortification), but it was a welcome reminder of the impending fourth season of "Game of Thrones."
