Barbara Walters: Oscars Special 'Wasn't Special Anymore,' 'People Who Have Been In One Movie'

When Barbara Walters announced that this week's upcoming Oscars special would be her last, she said, "I think I'm sick of them...I feel I've been there, done that."

In an interview with the New York Post, she has expanded on those comments, hinting that one reason she's "sick of them" is that there haven't been the big-time movie stars she's loved to interview over the years.

"It wasn't special anymore," she said. "Now, it's people who have been in one movie."

The Post writes that Walters "got to be a bigger star than the people she interviewed," which made the special feel "uncomfortable."

Walters' 29th and final Oscars broadcast will air this Sunday before the awards show and will feature interviews with Best Actress nominee Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side") and Best Supporting Actress nominee Mo'Nique ("Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire") as well as include a retrospective from past Oscars specials. The program airs Sunday, March 7 at 7PM ET on ABC (it airs after the Oscars on the west coast).
