Peter King On Official Caught Saying 'F*** The E.U.': 'Good For Her'

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) came to the defense of Victoria Nuland, the senior State Department official caught saying "f*** the E.U." in a leaked phone call, saying "good for her" for the comment.

Politicker reports King was speaking to radio host Geraldo Rivera during an interview Friday.

“Let me just say, what she said, you know I don’t disagree with that,” King said. “I don’t want to sound anti-European but they -- the European Union -- they will debate stuff to death, they will talk about ... form and never get down to substance ... We have to work with them but I don’t blame her for saying that at all, good for her.”

King doubled down on his criticism, calling the European Union "self-righteous."

Nuland has since apologized for her remarks.

The United States believes Russian officials are responsible for leaking the private phone conversation, an allegation the government denies.
