Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Philip Seymour Hoffman's Funeral

WBC's Behavior Continues To Disgust Us

As the world mourns the untimely death of actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, one group is already dancing on his grave, and plans to picket his funeral. This will come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the hate group known as the Westboro Baptist 'Church,' who also planned to picket the funerals of Paul Walker and Cory Monteith earlier this year.

Church members were busy picketing the Super Bowl when reports of Hoffman's death broke, and they wasted no time expressing their plans to demonstrate at his funeral.

They took aim at the renowned actor for his Oscar-willing role in "Capote" as "fag Truman Capote," as well as his portrayal of Father Flynn in "Doubt."

Their official picket schedule doesn't currently list Hoffman's funeral.

A real priest, Father James Martin, S.J., weighed in today on his wholly different impression of Philip Seymour Hoffman. They met in 2005 in New York City as Hoffman directed "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" at the Public Theater, and worked together again as Hoffman asked Martin to help him prepare for his role as a priest in "Doubt." Martin told The Huffington Post, "He was a lovely soul and it was a grace to know him."
