This Frog Could Teach Us A Thing Or Two About Chivalry

Who said that chivalry is dead... in the frog world?

This photograph was captured by 27-year-old Kutub Uddin in the back garden of his home in the English seaside town of Bognor Regis, West Sussex. The frogs have been Uddin's pets for the past several months and he often lets them out to roam around his yard.

This little guy isn't the first to shield himself from the rain with a leaf. Another type of frog, in Indonesia, was found using a leaf as an umbrella last year. The photo was entered in a National Geographic contest, but editors later determined the frog was placed there to get the shot.

The red-eyed tree frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is not, in fact, native to southern England. These nocturnal carnivores are normally found in the tropical rainforests of southern Mexico, central America and northern South America. They're not endangered, according to National Geographic, but their habitat is shrinking.
