Back in the olden days of April 2013, Gwyneth Paltrow inadvertently gave name to a craze (and it was a craze, for it was crazy) for sheer-sided dresses. Her particular dress, a structural Antonio Berardi gown, had sheer panels down both sides, leaving everything along her torso and legs visible... including her lack of underwear.
And thus took off the so-called "sidebutt" craze, wherein stars hit the runway in dresses cut in such a way that they couldn't possibly be wearing panties. But the trend, like so many, seemed to die sometime over the fall... until this week.
Paris Hilton showed up to the Senate Music Group's Pre-Grammy Celebration on Thursday sporting a black long-sleeve, high-neck gown... with swaths of sheer fabric cutting right across the middle and down the leg.
Subtle, Paris. Unfortunately, we don't think this whole no-underwear dress trend is something that should still be happening. Because underwear aren't the enemy -- wardrobe malfunctions are. Take it from Adrienne Bailon.
