Carolina Herrera: 'Women Have Buyer's Remorse No Matter What The Economy Is Doing'

WSJ: Has consumer spending picked up?

Ms. Herrera: Lately, it has been better. At one point, I used to see the people who used to buy a lot, and they were a little concerned about buying. Now they are shopping again.

The women who used to buy three dresses in a day, they don't buy that anymore. But they do buy one that they really want.

In December, I opened a Carolina Herrera New York boutique in Las Vegas. I believe the economy is going to be better, and I think we have to try.

Women have buyer's remorse no matter what the economy is doing. That's why we lie to the husband. "Did you buy that?" "Oh no, it was on sale." It's always the same.
