Bruce Campbell has been in a lot of movies. As in nearly 60 of them by last count (plus a couple dozen TV shows and a handful of video games). But fans of the self-proclaimed B-movie actor of Army of Darkness and Burn Notice would love to see Campbell in more flicks -- and maybe even in some that were released years ago.
Leave it to the nerdy folks at Wizard World Comic Con to make that happen. The convention organizer got the actor to play along in "lost audition tapes" to deliver lines from some famous geek movies.

Ever wonder how The Joker, General Zod, Bane or even Chewbacca might be remembered if they were portrayed in the "Bruce Campbell Way"? Wonder no more, and laugh and laugh. Personally, I think he could slip into the Anchorman universe seamlessly based on his Ron Burgundy. His Bane, however, was a little too ... coherent.
Of course, Campbell has a reputation for being a working class actor who made a living in cult films and in supporting roles. He documented this career in the 2002 book If Chins Could Kill. Still, while he wasn't considered an A-list "star," he acquired a dedicated fanbase in geek culture due to his work in The Evil Dead franchise; Maniac Cop; The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.; Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess; Bubba Ho-Tep; Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films; and Burn Notice, which ran on USA Network for seven seasons.
And it's good timing for Wizard to release the faux screen tests. Campbell will be appearing at Wizard World's Portland Comic-Con next weekend in his adopted home state of Oregon (as well as at their Sacramento, St. Louis and Chicago cons this year), where he'll be signing autographs and participating in photo opportunities.
Coincidentally, Peter Mayhew, the man behind the Wookiee fur in Star Wars, will also be at Portland Comic Con, so maybe Campbell can pick up some Chewie tips next week.
