An Arizona high school basketball team made a very special substitution on Monday night.

With time running out in the game, Glendale's Deer Valley High Skyhawks brought in team manager and special needs student Jose Meraz.

The team drew up a play to get the ball to Meraz and give him an opportunity to shoot -- and Meraz made the most of it.

Wearing No. 45, Meraz initially mishandled the ball before squaring up and banking in a three-point buzzer beater. The crowd went wild, and Meraz's team stormed the court in celebration, despite having won the game handily 77-37.

Classmates promoted a video of the special shot on Twitter, and it landed a spot on SportsCenter's 'Top Plays of the Night.'

Well played, Skyhawks!
