WATCH: This Trippy Map Of Wind Patterns Is A Massive Time Suck

Earth's weather systems are truly mesmerizing. Just take a look at this trippy interactive map of global wind patterns created by Tokyo-based software engineer Cameron Beccario.

The map, dubbed simply "Earth," is updated every three hours with data from the U.S. National Weather Service’s Global Forecast System. Its swirling, luminous colors really grab your attention. The thin lines of green on the map depict gentle breezes, Universe Today reported. Strong winds are rendered as light streaks of yellow, and the strongest as thick red and purple lines.

You can zoom in and out to see wind patterns all over the world. What you might not be able to do easily is look away. Don't say we didn't warn you!
