'Survivor: Blood Vs. Water' Finale Winner Revealed

'Survivor: Blood Vs. Water' Winner Revealed!

When the night began, there were still seven people vying for the position of "Sole Survivor." By the time "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" wrapped its season two hours later, Tyson Apostol was the last man standing. He'd held a position of power in the game since his girlfriend was eliminated earlier in the season. And he managed to hold onto a three-person alliance, bringing Gervase Peterson and Monica Culpepper with him to the end.

Save for one arguably bitter vote against him from Vytas Baskauskas, Tyson secured every other vote from the jury thanks to a very strong game. Entertainment Weekly's Dalton Ross called it well-deserved, writing, "In his third time playing the game, Tyson checked off all the boxes on his résumé through the course of the season: making a big move to get rid of early favorite Aras, finding the only two hidden immunity idols in the game, and then winning the final two individual immunity challenges to ensure his place in the final three." Zap2It's Andrea Reiher agreed, saying that Tyson "played an awesome game."

"Survivor" returns for its 28th season in February 2014. Jeff Probst teased the format, which promises a battle with "Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty."
