Fox News Wins State Of The Union Coverage On Cable News

Obama's State of the Union drew about 48 million total viewers across the networks, but on cable news the majority of viewers turned to Fox News.

Fox News drew 5.741 million total viewers for the duration of the speech, which lasted from about 9:10-10:20 PM. CNN averaged 3.326 million viewers for that time period, while MSNBC averaged 2.410 million total viewers.

From 9-11PM, which included the speech, Republican response, and analysis, Fox News averaged 5.831 million total viewers to CNN's 3.051 million and MSNBC's 2.312 million.

In the A25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 1.843 million A25-54 viewers for the speech compared to CNN's 1.130 million and MSNBC's 758,000. For the 9-11PM period overall, Fox News averaged 1.880 million A25-54 viewers to CNN's 1.024 million and MSNBC's 712,000.
