Bryan Singer will direct 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse," this according to Vulture. The film will be a direct follow-up to "X-Men: Days of Future Past," the 2014 X-Men film that will feature both the franchise's original stars (Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen) and younger cast (Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence).
Not that any "X-Men" fans will find this news surprising: Singer tweeted about the film from his personal account last week, and it was widely assumed that he'd have some behind-the-camera involvement in the "X-Men: Apocalypse" development anyway.
More relevant information comes in the form of the film's apparent storyline. Per Vulture, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will focus on the series' younger stars, placing it within the X-Men world first created in "X-Men: First Class."
