Zooey Deschanel Is Adorkable-y Weird On 'American Dad'

This week's installment of "American Dad" took shape like an independent film. It was a classic cross country trip so Snot could attend the funeral of the father he never knew. Along the way, though, Steve ditched his best friend when something more interesting came along. Indie film darling, and "New Girl," Zooey Deschanel played a nameless girl who was adorkable-y weird in all the right ways.

And this girl was weird just for the sake of being weird. "I could tell you my name, but would my name tell you that I'm incapable of seeing the color orange?" she asked Steve. "Or that I think mustaches are t-shirts for lips? Or that I wear ice skates to weddings? It's hard to dance. But that's just the type of person I am."

Steve met her carrying a cello case that she was using a suitcase. And he said farewell as she toweled off using a stuffed animal. It was as if everything that defined hipster culture and our perception of Zooey Deschanel were thrown into a blender and regurgitated into this offbeat and yet perfect character.

"American Dad" airs Sundays at 9:30 p.m. EST on Fox.
