An elderly Haitian woman buried in the rubble of a collapsed house for 10 days was located and rescued Friday, CBS reports.

The doctors treating the 84-year-old said she is in very poor condition and may not survive.

"Yves Romain, a 58-year-old telephone technician, said he and his family were sleeping in front of the collapsed home when they heard moaning from inside and called neighbours for help. After 20 hours of digging with bare hands, he said, they freed his mother."

Among other survivors pulled out alive Friday was a 22-year-old man whom rescuers pulled out from a collapsed three-story building.
