We've challenged you to FOCUS: Follow One Course Until Successful. And it's a lot easier to do that with a quiet mind.

Quieting your mind is not easy initially. It requires practice.

But the benefits abound.

From enhanced well-being and productivity, to sustained joy and peace, a consistent mindfulness practice brings balance to your life and business.

There are loads of useful mindfulness tips and techniques out there. We suggest starting with one: Silence.

One of the hardest things for us to do is to simply be silent.

As Pascal put it: "All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone."

So here's our challenge to you:

Twice a day, preferably upon waking and right before you go to sleep at night, sit with yourself in silence for five minutes. Focus on your breath. Every time thoughts arise, allow your breath to gently blow them away. Don't control your breath in any way. Just quietly observe it.

This simple exercise will be tough at first. But it will eventually leave you feeling refreshed, relaxed and able to focus on the task ahead -- be it a project or a restful slumber.

Do you already have a regular practice of silence? What tips can you add to help others cultivate silence?
