Figuring out a makeup routine that works for you is tricky enough as it is, but throw in a pair of glasses and things instantly become much more complicated.
Gals who wear specs often mistakenly think that it means that they should tone down their beauty look, but that's far from the case. Thick-frame glasses can usually support bright blushes and bold lipsticks, but the key is to figure out what colors work best on your complexion.
To prove our point, we styled a few Huff Post editors in Warby Parker specs and statement-making lipstick to show, once and for all, that just because you're sporting glasses doesn't mean you can't experiment in the beauty department. We had makeup artist Kari Bauce and hairstylist Cassi Hurd match each girl with the best frames for her face shape and a lip color that complimented her skin tone. Check out the beautiful results:
Ombre Hair + Caramel Glasses = Red-Orange Lips
HuffPost Live executive lifestyle editor Anya is well-known around the office for her signature red-orange lips, so of course we stayed true to this by pairing her Lyle English Oak specs with Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream Lipstick in Chromed (a fiery red). Winged gel liner smudged out gently with a sponge helped to make this one mesmerizing combo.
Tanned Skin + Burnished Frames = Toffee Lips
Because senior style editor Ellie's hair coloring and skin tone are very similar to her sun-kissed Chandler Olivewood frames, Bauce opted for a no-liner look that accentuated her natural glow. And she did it with just three products: tawny brown eyeshadow, black mascara and Le Métier de Beauté Lip Crème in Toffee Creme.
Fair Skin + Dark Glasses = Purpley Pink Lips
When you've got pale skin and dark hair, Bauce believes you shouldn't skimp on the color or you'll disappear. So we dressed up HuffPost Women editor Emma's lips with Tarte Glamazon 12-Hour Lipstick in Playful (a purple rose shade), brightened her cheeks with a pink-toned blush and added cat-eye liner to complement her brown and black-flecked Duckworth Oak Barrel glasses.
Big, Curly Hair + Black Square Frames = Cherry Red Lips 
One thing is for sure, BlackVoices style and beauty editor Julee is no shrinking violet. This Make Up For Ever #207 Cherry Red Lipstick and her Bensen Whiskey Tortoise eyeglasses scream, "Look at me!" Her curly updo and thick cat-eye makeup add the finishing touch.
Short Brown Hair + Black Sunglasses = Fuchsia Lips
It's rare that we get to see our photographer/photo editor Raydene on the other side of the camera lens, but she sure is easy on the eye with this mini pompadour hairstyle and retro-inspired Jasper sunnies. To balance out the darkness of her sunglasses, we chose Aveda Nourish-mint Rehydrating Lip Glaze in Winterberry (a vibrant shade of pink). Tip: Line lips with pencil to keep your lipstick from fading or bleeding.
Red Hair + Golden Sunnies = Pinky Coral Lips 
Style editor Rebecca's ravishing red-orange hair makes a statement on its own, but a sleek, mid-ponytail helped to make these Downing Walnut Tortoise sunglasses the focal point. All she needed was a bit of bronzer and a swipe of Kevyn Aucoin The Lip Gloss in Reyna (a pinky-coral hue) to warm up her milky complexion.
