'Exploding Lineage II: Afro-Asian Visions' To Premiere At 26th MIX NYC Festival

WATCH: Exploding Queer And Trans Identity Through Experimental Film

Following their debut at last year's MIX NYC Festival, production company Queer Rebels will premiere "Exploding Lineage II: Afro-Asian Visions" at this year's installment of the event.

Featuring 15 different experimental films made by queer and trans people of color, the event looks at past, present and future visions from queer African American and Asian American artists.

“In the queer and trans community, so often we know what we stand against. What do we stand for?" said Queer Rebels Co-Founder KB Boyce to The Huffington Post. "In 'Afro-Asian Visions: Exploding Lineage II' and other curated programs, Queer Rebels is here to love and nurture revolutionary art."

The MIX NYC Film Festival, founded in 1987, "promotes, produces and preserves experimental media that is rooted in the lives, politics, and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and otherwise queer-identified people," according to a press release. It seeks to challenge mainstream understandings of gender and sexuality, and has grown to serve as a point of entry for many emerging artists and filmmakers. "Exploding Lineage II: Afro-Asian Visions" is a one-day event an will occur on Wednesday, Nov. 13. For tickets and more information visit this website. Tickets will also be available at the door.
