Terry McAuliffe Thanks Supporters, Immediately Asks For More Money

Terry McAuliffe's Thank You Note Knows Its Priorities

You have to hand it to "The Macker" -- the not always affectionate nickname for Virginia Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe (D). Having risen to wealth and now political power largely through his lifetime devotion to fundraising, the Bundler of the Potomac thanked his supporters on Wednesday with a terse email, which also asked for money on behalf of the Democratic Governors Association.

The email consisted of two sentences: "I cannot thank you enough for all of your support. This campaign wouldn't have been possible without you." Below that was an election night picture of McAuliffe and his wife, Dorothy.

And then a big red button with one word on it: CONTRIBUTE.

The rest was white space. Why bother with sentiment when money will do?
