'Glee' Spinoff For Lea Michele? Not So Fast Fox Says

A 'Glee' Spinoff?

Lea Michele is not getting a "Glee" spinoff, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Radar reported "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy was prepping a spinoff for Michele to carry, quoting a source as saying, “They’re making the deals now and it also presents a viable exit plan for the main 'Glee' series itself -- in that some of its core cast would also migrate to the Lea Michele project as 'Glee' is showing signs of aging.”

A Fox rep told Los Angeles Times there's no truth to the Radar report. A request for comment from The Huffington Post was not returned.

"Glee" is currently in its fifth season and has already been renewed for a sixth. Season 6 is planned to be the last for the Fox series.

"The whole [last] year of the show -- which will be next year -- was really designed around Rachel-Cory/Finn story," Murphy said in October, according to EW. "I always knew that. I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was -- he was in it. I knew what the last line was; she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do."

Cory Monteith passed away in July. "Glee" paid tribute to its star and his character with a special episode.

This isn't the first time a "Glee" spinoff has been discussed. The show made headlines when talk of spinning off several of its characters -- including Michele's, Montetih's and Chris Colfer's -- following their fictional high school graduation in Season 3. Those plans were quashed.

"Glee" airs Thursdays, 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
